Using a Highlighter for Prewriting Practice

My sister told me about this trick.  Her daughter's preschool does this for the kids to learn how to write.  Since Lucy is so good at drawing and coloring I thought this could be a good trick to sue for her.  We got to this portion of the Camel activities and for the little ones we were just supposed to write camel for them but instead I thought I would try the highlighter trick.

I wrote the word camel with a highlighter and then showed Lucy how to trace down the middle.  I just did the letter C and she did the rest.  She did so good!
